Missouri Veterans Commission in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support Veterans meals, prepare foods, deliver and collect carts, and maintain a clean dining area. The position offers day and evening shifts with competitive hourly pay and a chance to work closely with Veterans.
0–1 year of food service experience is typical; training is provided. Benefits include paid leave, health, life insurance, retirement, and a savings match, all within a mission-driven team
Qualifications
- 0–1 year of experience in food service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good customer service and teamwork skills
Responsabilités
- Assist Veterans meals, including meal selection, tray line assembly, and serving
- Prepare foods as assigned
- Deliver and pick up food carts to/from resident areas
- Clean the dining area (sweep/mop floors, equipment, remove garbage)
- Operate dish machine and other kitchen equipment safely
- Lift, carry and transfer heavy food containers; load, stock, label, and rotate
