Job summary

Mchsys is seeking a Food Service Aide to work rotating day shifts in a care setting. You will assist with meal prep, tray assembly, and food service, following recipes and dietary plans in collaboration with a dietitian.

The role emphasizes food safety, accurate temperature checks, and timely tray delivery. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and you must be able to interpret policies, perform basic math, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and pre-portions food for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menus and production sheets.
• Handles food using proper food handling and safety techniques.
• Ensures food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner and checks taste and adaptability.
• Maintains proper food temperatures during preparation and service and records temperatures.
• Assists with tray line setup and assembles trays according to menu, tray tickets, and diet orders.
• Assists in checking trays during service and may serve and run the cash register on the food line.

Food Service Aide Rotating Day Shift * Safety Sensitive Job

Dietary aides work with a dietitian to prepare food based on recipes for a specific purpose. Dietary aides typically have to consider health-related situations when preparing meals and recipes safely.

• Prepares and/or pre-portions food (such as beverages, salads, desserts, and other items assigned by the supervisor) for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and production sheets and as directed.
• Handles food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures.
• Ensures that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner. Uses proper tasting technique to ensure quality taste and adaptability prior to service.
• Maintains the proper temperature of food during preparation and service. Records food temperatures according to established policy.

Assists with the setup of the tray line. Assembles trays according to the planned menu and tray tickets, stated portion, resident food preferences, and diet order and within the established time schedules. Assists in checking trays during service for accuracy plus serving and running cash register on food line

Requirements
