Job summary

Saratoga Retirement Community in Saratoga, CA is seeking friendly dining servers to assist residents with meal selection and service in our upscale 94-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. Part-time or full-time roles with weekend availability are required, and flexible scheduling is offered based on business needs.

You will present menus, take and relay orders to the kitchen, deliver meals, clear tables, and support light back-of-house tasks.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred.
• POS software experience required.
• Effective English verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment screens per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with meal selection and menu options.
• Record orders and relay to kitchen production area.
• Deliver meals and aid residents during service.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables for the next meal service.
• May assist with light back-of-house duties (salad bar, soups, coffee).
• Observe residents to ensure safety in dining areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position

• Part-time or Full-time

Our Servers

• Assist residents with meal selection, which may include ordering from menu, buffet/a la carte item selection, and assistance with any buffet stations (e.g. salad bar, breakfast bar.) as needed.
• Present menu to residents, answers questions and makes suggestions regarding meal choices. Records orders and relays to kitchen production area. Is knowledgeable about menu choices, including ingredients and preparation methods.
• Works efficiently and quickly delivers food to residents, aiding them as needed.
• Clears, cleans, and resets tables for next meal service.
• May assist with light back of house/kitchen duties (including such tasks as salad bar, soup service, portion desserts, brew coffee or other services as needed.
• Assists with clearing table.
• Observes residents to ensure safety in our dining areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned,
  

What You Need To Succeed

• At least 18 years of age.
• Previous server experience highly preferred.
• 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred.
• Software experience using POS (point-of-sale) transactional systems
• Must possess effective English verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen, may need to complete other pre-employment screenings such as physical, fingerprint, and TB test as required by state/local guidelines.
