Job summary

Roskam Foods, a Grand Rapids-based contract manufacturer, is seeking a Food Scientist to drive product development from concept to commercialization. You will lead cross-functional teams, conduct bench-top development, and optimize formulations for cost and scale while aligning with safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in a related field, have lab experience with GMPs, and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate with sales, marketing, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
• Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
• Laboratory setting experience with good laboratory practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams on product development and project execution.
• Conduct bench-top development to meet consumer and customer objectives.
• Lead formulation and process optimization projects.
• Translate concepts into manufacturable products and scale-up plans.
• Oversee shelf-life and sensory testing to ensure quality.
• Support regulatory awareness and safety standards in development.
