Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a Food Scientist I/II to develop and commercialize new products and processes. The role covers all stages from concept through commercialization, ensuring regulatory labeling and food safety compliance.

The successful candidate will lead sample development, cost analyses, and process improvements, working closely with marketing, FSQA, and operations. Travel to facilities is required and relocation sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Food Science, Meat Science, Food Engineering or related field; Alt. Protein science or equivalent.
• PhD with no experience acceptable; MS with no experience acceptable.
• B.S. with minimum 2–3 years relevant experience depending on degree; 8+ years if no degree.

Responsibilities

• Work with marketing, insights, sales, culinary, FSQA, operations and purchasing for new product start-up.
• Modify or optimize existing products; develop production labeling specifications and cost analyses.
• Lead multiple development projects from concept to commercialization with managerial guidance.
• Perform bench top development, pilot plant testing, and scale-up to full production.
• Travel to plant production facilities as needed to support commercialization.
