Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Food Scientist to lead new product development from concept to commercial production, focusing on bakery, pastry, and frozen dessert systems. The role emphasizes hands-on work in active manufacturing environments with cross-functional collaboration across Quality, Sales, Purchasing, and Finance.

You will translate customer briefs into robust formulations, conduct pilot and plant trials, and ensure scale-up with reproducible processes and shelf-life validation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science or related discipline required.
• 3+ years in commercial food product development.
• Experience from benchtop to full commercialization.
• Strong formulation and troubleshooting in active manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of new food products from concept to commercialization.
• Develop benchtop prototypes and pilot-scale tests.
• Optimize ingredient functionality, stability and manufacturability.
• Design and formulate private-label products per customer specs.
• Own development lifecycle from concept through post-launch specs.
