Job summary

CPS, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, is looking for a Food Science Technician, Research & Development, to collaborate with the Senior Manager to collect data that measures product shelf life, prepare bench samples, and assist in the product development process.

You will support powder product development by collecting data from finished goods, record analyses with lab equipment such as pH meters and viscometers, assist in small-scale batch prep, and participate in sensory evaluations and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science is required.
• Working knowledge of benchtop analytical and physical testing equipment and methods.
• Good laboratory practices and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and drive for results.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs of a growth-oriented business.
• Must be able to safely consume known allergens during sensory evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Support development of powder products by collecting data from finished goods and bench studies.
• Accurately record and enter analytical data using lab equipment.
• Assist in the preparation of small-scale batches of experimental formulations.
• Support raw material preparation for pilot trials and cross-functional product cuttings.
• Participate in R&D sensory evaluations and conduct office-wide sensory evaluations of powder products.
• Calibrate and schedule servicing of lab equipment and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Comply with laboratory safety and hygiene requirements.
• Take on additional tasks to support company objectives.
