Forever Cheese is hiring a part-time, temp-to-perm Food Science Intern at our Secaucus, NJ warehouse. You will support regulatory compliance, labeling, and quality systems, with hands-on data entry into industry platforms and collaboration across QA, R&D, and Supply Chain teams.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, organizational skills, and a passion for food science, in a warehouse office setting with flexible hours. Prior experience with TraceGains or similar platforms is a plus.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Food Science or related sciences.
• Experience with data entry into food safety platforms is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry into compliance platforms such as 1WorldSync, TraceGains, and other industry portals.
• Assist with generating and verifying Nutrition Facts Panels (NFP) and GTINs.
• Collect and organize supplier documentation such as COAs, allergen declarations, and product specs.
• Collaborate with QA, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to verify and update material and finished product data.
• Support daily administrative tasks and contribute to special projects related to food safety and quality systems.
• Participate in cross-functional team communications to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned.

Position Details

Job Title: Food Science Intern

Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm – Part-Time, On-Site, Flexible Hours

Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Compensation: $25.00 per hour

Location: Secaucus, New Jersey (office-based within a warehouse environment)

About The Role

This is a part-time, temp-to-perm internship: the position begins on a temporary basis, with the potential to convert to a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Benefits eligibility begins upon conversion to permanent status. The Food Science Intern will assist the Regulatory team in supporting compliance with food safety, labeling, and quality assurance standards. This role plays an important part in ensuring accurate product information and documentation while collaborating across departments to uphold high standards of food safety and regulatory compliance. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with internal teams and industry platforms, supporting day-to-day operations and special projects within a food manufacturing environment.

• Perform accurate data entry into compliance platforms such as 1WorldSync, TraceGains, and other industry portals
• Assist with generating and verifying Nutrition Facts Panels (NFP) and GTINs
• Collect and organize supplier documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COAs), allergen declarations, and product specifications
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA), Research & Development (R&D), and Supply Chain teams to verify and update raw material and finished product data
• Support daily administrative tasks and contribute to special projects related to food safety and quality systems
• Participate actively in cross-functional team communications to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Carries out any additional duties that may be assigned or requested

Qualifications and Skills

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree, preferably in Food Science; Microbiology, Nutrition, Dairy Science, or other relevant sciences are also considered
• Experience with, or willingness to learn, data entry into food safety and regulatory platforms such as TraceGains or ReposiTrak
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Work Environment and Physical Demands
