Job summary

Peterson Farms Inc in Hart, MI is seeking a Food Safety Quality Technician to join our quality assurance team. This full-time role involves qualitative testing, documentation, and working in a controlled production environment with shift work.

You will perform calibrations, grading, GLP adherence, sanitation checks, and maintain accurate records while collaborating with a small team to ensure products meet customer specs.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent attendance and great communication skills.
• Must be able to work in temperatures less than 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Responsibilities

• Undertake morning calibration tests and ensuring that test equipment is ready for the day’s production.
• Perform the required grading of finished product against a set of customer specifications.
• Ensure that all the required documentation is completed in a timely fashion and that it is accurate and legible.
• Conduct pre-operation sanitation inspections including microbiological and pH testing.
• Complete test results to standard and take action in out-of-specification situations.
• Follow and enforce Good Lab Practices (GLP’s).
• Maintain adequate stock of lab supplies.
• Maintain work area in a clean, neat, orderly manner.
• Inform Supervisors and Management when out-of-specification situations occur.

Complete all activities required to assure that all products are manufactured to meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and consistency.

Environmental Working Conditions

• Hazards include but are not limited to cuts from broken glass, slips, trips, falls, cuts, burns and strains.
• Will be exposed to extreme cold, 38 degrees or below.
• Depending on season may be exposed to variable temperatures including extreme hot and cold.
• Noise level may be moderate to high during busy times.
