Johnsonville, LLC. is seeking an Assistant Food Safety/Quality Manager in Watertown, WI to drive a best-in-world quality culture through leadership and staff engagement. The role focuses on food safety, quality, and animal welfare across plant operations.

You will develop plans, coordinate audits, and support continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with FSIS, USDA and GMP standards. This position requires a second shift and a strong team player mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science, Microbiology or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered with certifications.
• HACCP Certification preferred; GFSI capable credentials preferred.
• 2–4 years in a quality leadership role is preferred; knowledge of USDA and animal handling is advantageous.
• Experience with meat processing/harvest and food manufacturing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Educate members on animal handling, food safety and quality systems.
• Represent food safety and quality on cross-functional project teams.
• Develop and maintain facility food safety and quality plans and SOPs including Redzone compliance.
• Lead or co-lead third-party audits (SQF and customer) and maintain programs.
• Coordinate with plant operations on food safety and quality policies for internal and external customers.
• Coordinate with third-party sanitation and monitor relevant metrics.
