Job summary

WaveCrest Staffing Group is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine analytical and laboratory testing in support of food safety, quality, and operational teams. You will conduct product testing, monitor instrumentation, and document results.

You will ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, maintain thorough records, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement in testing procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform routine laboratory testing accurately and consistently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and other technical documents.
• Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills related to laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine quantitative and qualitative laboratory testing and inspections of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Conduct product testing according to established procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor laboratory instrumentation performance and perform routine calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs as needed.
• Support more complex laboratory trials, experiments, and analyses under supervision.
• Accurately interpret, document, and enter test results into databases and other required systems.
• Communicate laboratory test results to internal customers and relevant team members.
• Maintain customer specification books and other laboratory documentation to ensure information remains accurate and current.
• Support and promote a strong food safety, quality, and regulatory culture by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, quality, regulatory, and testing procedures.
• Monitor adherence to established compliance programs and identify or escalation issues when necessary.
• Handle routine clerical, administrative, technical, and customer-support matters under general supervision.
• Escalate complex technical or operational issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all applicable safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and laboratory manuals.
• Prepare routine reports, documentation, and correspondence as required.
