Job summary

EW Grobbel is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Coordinator to join our Detroit/Taylor plant team. The role focuses on conducting quality checks, routine testing (temperature, weight, pH), and supporting audits to ensure products meet regulatory and internal standards.

The position emphasizes hands-on plant-floor work, documentation, and ongoing training to uphold safety and quality throughout production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field is a plus.
• 1-2 years of experience in a quality assurance or food production environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to work 100% on the plant floor, routinely lifting 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and quality control methodologies.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth quality checks on products, packaging, and equipment to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards (HACCP, USDA).
• Perform routine product testing, including temperature, weight, pH, and other quality measures, documenting results.
• Support quality audits, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions to address deviations or non-compliance issues.
• Assist in identifying areas for process improvement and suggest changes to enhance product quality and consistency.
• Maintain and update quality assurance records and logs, ensuring documentation aligns with regulatory and internal standards.
• Provide guidance to team members and participate in training on quality standards and procedures.

Shifts Available: 1st (5:30 AM- 3:00 PM), 2nd (2:30 PM- 1:00 AM)

Pay Range: Based on experience

We are seeking both entry level and experienced Food Safety & Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team and ensure our products consistently meet rigorous safety and quality standards. This position is ideal for detail-oriented individuals interested in starting a career in food quality assurance with plenty of room for growth and development. This is an ACTIVE position with 100% of time being on the plant floor (standing, walking, climbing stairs).
