Job summary

The Ziegenfelder Company in Lockhart, TX is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Team Lead to drive our SQF and HACCP programs, supervise sanitation and production support, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

This hands-on leadership role collaborates with production, sanitation, QA, and HR, performing audits, modifying procedures, and training staff to maintain product safety and quality in a fast-paced frozen treats environment.

Qualifications

• HACCP and PCQI certifications required.
• Experience or training in food safety, SQF, sanitation, SSOPs, GMPs, and QA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field preferred.
• SQF Practitioner certification and food sanitation coursework are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SQF, HACCP, GMP, SOP and SSOP programs.
• Perform internal audits, inspections, recalls readiness and traceability exercises.
• Supervise sanitation activities and ensure equipment and areas are cleaned thoroughly.
• Support production with quality testing, sampling, and process improvements.
• Review data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Develop trainings on food safety topics and SOPs for staff.
• Collaborate with QA, production, sanitation, maintenance, and HR to promote safe practices.
• Assist with third-party audits and maintain compliance documentation.
