Job summary

Kinsa Group is seeking a hands-on Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Manager in Los Angeles, CA. You will lead the FSQ team, drive a strong food safety culture, and ensure adherence to SQF, FDA, HACCP, FSMA, and customer requirements.

The role demands 5–10 years in FSQA with 3+ years in leadership. You’ll oversee audits, CAPA programs, and continuous improvement, aligning operations with quality goals and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of FSQA experience with 3+ years leading teams in food processing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GFSI/SQF programs, food microbiology.
• Experience leading SQF certification audits and interacting with regulators/customers.

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

• Lead, coach, and develop the Food Safety & Quality team while fostering a strong food safety culture.
• Serve as the SQF Practitioner and maintain compliance with SQF, FDA, HACCP, FSMA, and company standards.
• Drive customer complaint investigations, corrective actions, CAPA programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage internal, supplier, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring successful outcomes and timely resolution of findings.
• Oversee environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, pathogen control programs, and quarantine inventory disposition.
• Partner with operations, sanitation, and leadership teams to improve quality performance, reduce risk, and maintain audit readiness.

Competencies Needed for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5-10 years of FSQA experience, including 3+ years leading teams in a food processing environment.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GFSI/SQF programs, food microbiology, and preventive controls.
• Experience leading SQF certification audits and interacting with regulatory agencies and customers.
• Proven root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
• Confident decision-maker with strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
