Job summary

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is seeking a hospitality professional to assist the wait staff in food service, set up stations, and ensure timely delivery of dishes in our downtown Los Angeles restaurant. The role supports multiple outlets and collaborates with catering, banquets, and guest services to maintain exceptional guest experiences.

You should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and comply with sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some prior food service experience preferred.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.

Responsibilities

• Assist the wait staff in the service of food in accordance with the established standards.
• Set up station in the kitchen.
• Deliver food from kitchen to guests table. Place food in proper position and announce food as it is placed in front of guest, if required.
• Maintain the orderly upkeep of coolers and storage areas.
• Maintain all assigned food production service areas in an orderly manner in compliance with sanitation and health regulations.
• Assist in table set up and cleaning when required. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• May assist with other duties as needed, such as welcoming, greeting and seating guests, counting and exchanging soiled linen, polishing glassware or silverware, etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Some prior food service experience preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Standing up and moving about the kitchen, outlet or other designated areas
• Handling food, objects, products, chemicals, cleaning supplies and utensils
• Bending, stooping, kneeling

Other:

• Communicating with other people, listening and following up on basic guest requests
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

What We Offer

The hourly pay for this role is $26.24-$32.80. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue‑based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
