Food Runner | Part-time | Peak Restaurant by Rhubarb LLC

Position Summary

The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to the guest's table efficiently and accurately and acting as a liaison between the front and back of house to ensure effective communication.

This role pays an hourly rate of $10.65 plus tips.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers food from the kitchen to the guest's tables rapidly and accurately.
  • Runs completed dishes to guests without auctioning off food items at the table.
  • Describes various food dishes to customers.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the full food and drink menu.
  • Checks with guests during the dining experience to confirm satisfaction, as needed.
  • Acts as the contact point between Front and Back of house staff.
  • Acts as support to bus servers, when possible.
  • Keeps all service and table areas clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Ensures all tables and chairs are steady and sturdy.
  • Provides engaged, friendly, and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation, and smiling.
  • Practices highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials.
  • Follows and adheres to all standards set forth by the Board of Health.
  • Performs other related activities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Deliver timely and courteous service to guests in adherence to our company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write in English.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful, and positive attitude at all times.
  • Ability to have an outgoing, friendly disposition for guest relations.
  • Working knowledge of the full menu, including recipe details.
  • Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards.
  • Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times.
  • Attendance to company meetings and training seminars as required.
  • Responsible for training and developing new employees to Peak Restaurant standards of service.
  • Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies.
  • Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to all HR policies and procedures.

Education, Experience, Knowledge Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience as a Food Runner in a similar caliber establishment is preferred.
  • A high school education is required.

Physical / Special Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day.
  • Mobility and manual dexterity appropriate to staff in the Food Runner position.
