Job summary

Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Server Assistant to ensure dishes meet guest expectations and are delivered promptly. You’ll help prepare the bar for service and support the bar team to maintain smooth flow of guests.

You will set up garnishes, stock china, maintain a clean work area, assist with requests, and communicate with the kitchen to keep orders on track. Must be able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Set up garnishes for dishes and stock trays.
• Stock all needed china and maintain tray setup/breakdown.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and stock.
• Promptly reset trays and manage inventory with accuracy.
• Maintain stock of china, silver, and linens.
• Set up/break down station at start/end of shift.
• Assist with guest requests to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Maintain communication between servers and kitchen.
• Track ticket times and ensure prompt service.
• Maintain presentation standards of plates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be knowledgeable in preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.

POSITION PURPOSE: As a Server Assistant, you will ensure that our incredible dishes meet guest expectations and are delivered to the right table in a timely manner. In this role, you will get to experience the great joy you bring our guests when presenting them requested orders. As well, to be responsible for getting the bar ready for the day and providing superior service to our guests. Be an essential part of our bar team, and help the flow of guests in and out of the Bar run smoothly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• 1. Set up all garnishes for dishes and set-up trays.
• 2. Stock all needed china.
• 3. Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
• 4. Promptly and efficiently reset trays.
• 5. Maintain stock of china, silver, and linens.
• 6. Responsible for setting up/breaking down station at the beginning and end of shift.
• 7. Assist with special guest requests to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• 8. Maintains communication between servers and kitchen associates.
• 9. Maintain ticket times and ensure promptness with quote time.
• 10. Maintain standard of plate presentation.
• 11. Perform other duties as assigned.
• 12. Must be knowledgeable in preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• 13. Basic mathematical skills necessary to ensure proper delivery amounts, understand portion sizes, and assist with inventory.
• 14. Sufficient manual dexterity of hands in order to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, tap kegs, and extend arms overhead to stock items.

• 6. No prior experience required.
• 7. Ability to learn all menu items and garnishes.
• 8. Ability to multi-task.
• 9. Ability to self-motivate during slow periods.
• 10. Ability to maintain composure during peak hours.
