Description
Proof of the Pudding (POP) is the food service provider for the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex. This complex is the official practice facility of the Hawks. POP provides meal services multiple times per day year-round to ensure players, staff, and coaches are fueled with a health-focused menu.
A food runner plays a critical role in the overall logistics and operations at the Hawks Training Facility. A Food Runner will be the "boots on the ground" worker to ensure areas are stocked, helping expedite food from kitchen to dining room and post service clean up is done efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, can work independently and with a team, and enjoys manual work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Stocking front of house areas with food & beverage according to inventory sheets or director from Dining Room Manager or General Manager.
- Multi-task, prioritize and operate independently in an efficient manner
- Promptly transport prepared dishes from the kitchen to guests' tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation quality.
- Verify each plate matches the order ticket and adheres to the restaurant’s presentation and portion standards.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner when delivering food or answering basic questions.
- Keep service stations, trays, and kitchen pass areas clean, stocked, and organized throughout the shift.
- Quickly learn the building and be able to navigate efficiently and safely throughout the venue
- Work efficiently and independently to complete assigned tasks
- Prepare trays, stock silverware, and clean designated areas before and after service.
Performs other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
Experience & Specialized Skills
- Experience in similar role is preferred such as Food Runner, Food Expeditor, Runner, Server Assistant
- A good memory and ability to problem solve effectively
- Hours can range based on event, but expect to work 8 hours

Work Environment
This position is often outside on the loading dock or working in storage trucks that can be refrigerated or for frozen storage. This role is highly physical with an emphasis on organization, operating golf carts, and moving products in a fast-paced work environment. This position will be moving in and out of temporary structures and carrying items across miscellaneous terrains.
Physical Requirements
- This role requires standing and walking for long periods of time and the work days can be long and demanding
- Ability to operate a golf cart safely
- Longevity to lift things up stairs and across uneven ground
- Lift 80 pounds and climb multiple flights of stairs without assistance
Compensation & Benefits
