The Food Runner assists servers in delivering food to the proper table at the right time, clearing dirty plates and silverware, responding to other guest needs, and any other tasks that contribute to the smooth flow of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Check food for accuracy, presentation and temperature before serving.
• Communicate with all kitchen areas to ensure food tickets are executed correctly.
• Deliver food to tables promptly.
• Answer questions about the food when requested.
• Pre‑bus soiled plates from guest tables.
• Tidy work stations and expo area.
• Understand restaurant layout to deliver food accurately.

Working Conditions

• Stand for the entirety of the scheduled shift.
• Walk/move around the restaurant for the majority of the shift.
• Lift up to 20 lbs.
• Hold warm plates to deliver food to guests in a timely fashion.

Skills

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of menu items.
• Ability to move quickly to ensure prompt food delivery, preventing foods from sitting too long.

Education/Experience
