Job summary

The Borough of Conshohocken is seeking a friendly Food Expeditor to join our dining team on a part-time basis in Conshohocken, PA. You will deliver food from the kitchen to tables quickly and coordinate with Front and Back of House staff.

You will communicate orders, help with table settings, assist guests, ensure safety standards, and handle guest inquiries with a calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a food expeditor or similar entry-level restaurant role.
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety rules.
• Physical stamina to carry heavy trays and stand long hours.
• Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends.
• Strong multi-tasking and coordination skills.
• Good verbal communication with guests and staff.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to tables quickly and accurately.
• Coordinate between Front of House and Back of House staff.
• Relay orders to chefs, noting priorities and allergies.
• Assist staff with table settings and placeware.
• Serve welcome drinks and hors d’oeuvres on guests’ arrival.
• Ensure food safety and proper temperatures.
• Check in with customers and take additional orders or refills.
• Clear dirty dishes and utensils.
• Answer guests about ingredients and menu items.
• Inform staff of guest feedback or requests.
• Provide kids menus and appropriate silverware for families.

• Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
• Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
• Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
• Serve welcome drinks and hors d’oeuvres, upon guests’ arrival
• Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
• Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed
• Remove dirty dishes and utensils
• Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
• Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
• Make sure families with young children get kids menus and special silverware sets
