Job description

Legacy Talent Search is actively seeking a dependable and motivated Food Production Lead role in Eugene. Our client is a recognized industry leader focused on producing high-quality products while fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in guiding teams toward excellence in food safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations on the production floor to ensure product is packed accurately, efficiently, and meets all quality standards.

  • Communicate clearly with machine operators, team members, and supervisors about product types, packaging requirements, and production timelines.

  • Monitor line performance, identify and address production issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.

  • Oversee visual inspection of finished products to ensure proper sealing, wrapping, and labeling per food safety and traceability protocols.

  • Ensure team adherence to all food safety, quality, and sanitation policies, including GMPs, SOPs, and allergen control systems.

  • Train and mentor production team members on procedures, safety practices, and quality expectations.

  • Complete and review documentation for product traceability, waste management, and quality checks.

  • Communicate supply needs and equipment concerns to supervisors or maintenance teams in a timely manner.

  • Foster a positive team environment by setting the tone for a respectful, productive, and food-safe workplace.

  • Actively participate in audits, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration with QA and operations leadership.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • At least 1 year of experience in a food production or manufacturing environment, with prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive, team-first attitude.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting.

  • Effective math skills for measurements and production calculations.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • A strong commitment to food safety, operational efficiency, and team development.

Special Requirements:
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures.

  • Maintain safety and food safety practices at all times throughout the shift.

  • May be required to lift/move up to 50+ lbs regularly and up to 75+ lbs with assistance.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Work occurs in production, office, and occasionally outdoor environments.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift continuously throughout the shift.

  • Repetitive motion and fast-paced tasks are common; must be able to lead and participate alongside team members.
