Job summary

Stefanini Group in Glenview, IL is seeking a Product Development Scientist to lead bench top experiments, test flavors and textures, and support commercialization of new products in the Condiments and Sauces unit. This contract role requires a technical background and the ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision.

You will collaborate with Packaging, Quality, Operations, Project Management, Marketing and Sales to meet business objectives, travel up to 15% to factory locations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Meat Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–4 years of real world product development experience.
• Strong benchtop formulation capability.
• Hands on experience running bench experiments, prototype work, analytical measurements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with semi-structured oversight.
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving, communication, and critical thinking.
• Ability and willingness to be onsite Monday–Friday.
• Ability to travel 15% to factory locations; travel reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bench top experiments and analytical measurements in the lab.
• Test new products for flavor, texture, color, nutritional content, shelf-life, and standards.
• Support development and commercialization of new/improved products; review ingredients; deliver cost savings.
• Collaborate with Packaging, Quality, Operations, Project Management, Marketing, Sales to drive projects.
