Job summary

FOODMatch in New York seeks a Product Development Specialist to join our Sourcing team. You will coordinate Retail, Private Label, and Club Store projects from initial request through commercialization and full-scale production, ensuring timelines, samples, pricing inputs, and documentation are tracked.

You will support new product development, assist with vendor coordination, recipe development, cost modeling, and process improvement, collaborating with Quality, Finance, Marketing, Purchasing,

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional experience in food product development or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of FDA regulations, FSMA, and FSVP preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Office, Outlook, SharePoint, Adobe, and Navision preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Retail, Private Label, and Club Store projects from initial customer request through commercialization and full-scale production.
• Gather, organize, and maintain project information including customer requirements, product specs, timelines, samples, pricing inputs, and documentation.
• Support the development and renovation of products and formulas requested by Sales, Management, Customers, and internal ideation initiatives.
• Assist in coordinating communication between Quality, Finance, Marketing, Purchasing, Sales, Operations, and Product Development.
• Identify and engage suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers for current and new FOODMatch products.
• Support project launches by helping cross-functional teams complete tasks, approvals, and deliverables.
• Maintain project launch timelines and ensure milestones and customer requirements are met.
• Log and distribute new product samples with accurate documentation and timely communication.
• Assist with vendor scheduling, sample coordination, and planning for customer meetings and trade shows.
• Develop and update internal processes, forms, and operating procedures to improve workflow.
