Job summary

Snack Innovations Inc. is a fast-growing consumer packaged goods company with a Piscataway, NJ facility. We seek an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to keep food processing and packaging lines running safely and efficiently.

You will install, diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across our production equipment, trains operators, and collaborates with multiple teams. Flexible shifts available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining food processing equipment.
• Food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of AC/DC motors, wiring, relays, starters, circuit breakers, sensors and switches.
• Experience with VFDs, instrumentation, sensor calibration, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Able to troubleshoot quickly in a fast-paced production environment.
• Follow PM checklists, safety procedures, and equipment manuals.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation, and verbal/written communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic maintenance/inventory systems.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts (nights, holidays, weekends, overtime).
• Able to work in cold environments, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and teamwork.
• Bilingual ability a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair food manufacturing, packaging, and material handling equipment (conveyors, baggers, hoppers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot electrical devices and components (relays, starters, switches, motors).
• Perform preventative maintenance according to checklists and safety procedures.
• Respond to equipment issues quickly to reduce downtime.
• Maintain accurate service, repair, and parts records.
• Assist with spare parts inventory and reordering needs.
• Train and support production operators on operation, safety, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production, quality, sanitation, and operations teams.
• Follow safety practices and regulatory requirements.
