Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc in Laurel, MD is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine and high-level maintenance, assist with material handling equipment and facility repairs.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines, inspecting and testing machinery, diagnosing problems and repairing equipment using schematics, and setting up/breaking down Food Processing equipment. Night shifts and occasional weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in facility maintenance/preventative equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and safety guidelines.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams and manuals.
• Strong communication with operations staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery per manufacturer guidelines.
• Visually inspect and test machinery to detect malfunction and report issues.
• Diagnose problems and repair defective machines using new or repaired parts per manuals.
• Set up and break-down of Food Processing equipment as required.
• Building maintenance repairs (plumbing, lighting, ballasts) and upkeep.
• Troubleshoot: determine causes of errors and choose best repair approach.
• Maintain tools and maintenance area in neat condition.
