Food Processing Equipment Reliability TechnicianWhat your day looks likeEvery shift, you are the go-to problem solver for a fast-moving food manufacturing and packaging operation. You’ll start by scanning work orders, walking the floor, and prioritizing preventive maintenance that keeps our high-speed lines humming. When a packaging conveyor trips or a filler drifts out of spec, you dive in—mechanical tools in one hand, meter in the other—diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control issues with confidence. You’ll back up production by supporting PLC and basic controls troubleshooting, keep our robots and automated systems online, and fabricate the brackets or guards we need to finish repairs right. Throughout the day, you’ll communicate status with maintenance, production, and leadership, and you’ll close out with a tidy, safe, and compliant work area.Core responsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial food processing and packaging equipment operating at high speedsExecute preventive maintenance to cut downtime and boost reliabilityDiagnose and correct faults across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systemsAssist with PLC troubleshooting and basic controls-related maintenance activitiesSupport robotic manufacturing equipment and automated production systemsPerform welding and fabrication to enable durable, safe repairs and modificationsService motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, sensors, and related plant assetsInterpret manuals, schematics, diagrams, and OEM documentation to plan repairsRespond quickly to breakdowns and production maintenance calls with clear communication to stakeholdersFollow all safety, food safety, GMP, LOTO, and company procedures; conduct machine safety inspectionsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentWhat you bringProven hands-on industrial maintenance experience with strong mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing settingSolid preventive maintenance experience and a reliability mindsetBackground with high-speed food processing and/or packaging equipment (preferred)Knowledge of programmable logic controls (PLCs); basic controls troubleshootingFamiliarity with robotic manufacturing controls or automated systems (preferred)Welding and fabrication skills to support repairs and plant improvementsExperience in manufacturing, production, or industrial environmentsAbility to identify root causes and implement lasting corrective actionsComfort working in a fast-paced production facility with a focus on safety, quality, and uptimeHigh school diploma or GED required; technical training, trade school, or related certifications are a plusTechnical proficiencyYou are comfortable working with the following domains and practices:Industrial and Manufacturing EngineeringMechanical Troubleshooting SkillsFood and Beverage ManufacturingISO 22000120/208/240/480 Voltage SystemsIndustrial Robot ProgrammingElectrical InstallationElectrical RepairTroubleshooting Industrial Automation EquipmentPneumatics TroubleshootingMaintenance and Repair SkillsIndustrial Electrical ExperienceIndustrial Electrical SystemsWorkplace Safety & EHS ManagementHydraulic Systems & ComponentsEquipment Diagnostics & TroubleshootingMechanical Systems & Component RepairGood Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)Electrical Schematic ReadingEquipment Installation & WiringEquipment Repair & MaintenanceEquipment InstallationMachine Safety InspectionsindustrialAbout the ideal teammateYou’re a hands-on maintainer who enjoys solving tough equipment problems, supporting automated lines, and keeping production on track.
