Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Food Preparation Worker to support patient and cafeteria meal service at University Hospital. The role prepares and portions salads, sandwiches, fruit and desserts, assembles trays, and ensures proper storage while maintaining a clean work area.

Shifts vary and may place you in the Central Kitchen, Seasons Cafe Deli, or Patient Hospitality Centers. The position requires basic math, reading/writing, and prior food service experience.

Qualifications

• 100 hours training in use of kitchen equipment and food production practices
• Must pass physical exam
• Must have basic computer skills
• Previous food service experience desired

Food Preparation Worker## Department:University Hospital | Food Service Administration**Job Description** Scope of Position: The Department of Nutrition & Dietetics administers quality nutritional care and food service operations for all the patients, personnel, and visitors in the OSU hospitals in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The Department coordinates activities to enhance patient and staff satisfaction.Position Summary: This position is responsible for setting up workstation(s), preparing and portioning salads, sandwiches, fruit and dessert for patient and cafeteria meals. Portions and assembles food for trays, and correctly stores all foods. Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment and demonstrates the \"Intensive Caring\" philosophy in interactions with patients, visitors and staff.
