Job summary

Mesa Verde National Park's Aramark operation seeks a Food Prep Worker to prepare and portion items according to recipes and standards. You'll use prep lists, maintain sanitation, and support safe, efficient kitchen operations at the Fair View Lodge area near the park entrance.

The role runs seasonal April–October 2025 with housing available. Prior prep or food service experience helps; reading, writing, and basic math skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of prep work or food service experience.
• Knowledge of food prep and sanitation is helpful.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes.
• Follows proper food handling procedures.
• Maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness.
• Manages leftover foods correctly; cover, label, date, and accurately store according to Aramark standards.
• Maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas.
• Ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift (including cleaning of kitchen equipment).
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations.
• Follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures.
• Completes all required training.

About Mesa Verde National Park:

Mesa Verde National Park is the archaeological wonder of Colorado. Famous for the elaborate sandstone cliff dwellings built by the Ancestral Puebloans, the park protects over 5,000 sites & over 600 dwellings that date back more than 1,400 years ago. Aramark operates the Fair View Lodge just 15 miles from the park’s entrance. Enjoy the tranquility & all activities Mesa Verde has to offer including hiking, guided tours, photography, camping, & birdwatching.

The Food Prep Worker prepares, and portions food items and performs various duties in accordance with production requirements and Aramark sanitation standards. Uses daily worksheets and standardized recipes to cook meals.

COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $15.00 to $15.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
