Job summary

CentraCare Food Service is seeking a Food Prep Associate to support nutrition services for patients, visitors, and staff. You will assist chefs, prepare ingredients, and help maintain a safe, clean kitchen.

This full-time role offers day shifts, 72 hours every two weeks, with weekend and holiday rotation. Starting pay is $20.31 per hour, with increases based on experience and full benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must follow oral and written instructions.
• ServSafe Food Safety Certification within six months of hire.
• One year of institutional, hospital, restaurant, or food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation and meal service.
• Prepare ingredients and menu items according to recipes and production standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas, kitchen equipment, and workspaces.
• Follow established food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
• Support patient safety initiatives and Family Centered Care principles.
• Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining kitchen supplies.
• Perform other kitchen and nutrition services duties as assigned.

As a Food Prep Associate, you will help prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming dining experience. This position works closely with chefs and kitchen staff to prepare menu items, maintain food safety standards, and support daily kitchen operations.

Schedule

• Full Time | 72 Hours Every Two Weeks

• Day Shift | 8-Hour Shifts

  • Typical shifts: 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and/or 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

  • You must be available for either shift as they will blend on the schedule.

  • Every Other weekend

  • Rotating holidays

Pay & Benefits

• Starting pay begins at $20.31 per hour and increases with experience

• Full Pay range: $17.71 - $27.07 per hour
