Job summary

US Foods in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Sanitation Crew Member to clean and sanitize plant equipment and facilities to meet food safety and quality standards. The role requires adherence to SOPs, quality checks, and safe work practices in a cool, refrigerated environment.

Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and fluency in English. Experience in sanitation/production is preferred, with overtime potential as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
• Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize plant equipment and environment thoroughly and safely.
• Operate cleaning systems and equipment as trained and specified.
• Perform Pre-Op quality assurance checks at designated intervals.
• Keep accurate records of testing and charts per company and regulatory regs.
• Follow all SOPs, procedures, and quality requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the facility and common areas.
• Interact cooperatively across departments and maintain good communications with coworkers.
• Obtain and maintain required training, certifications, and licenses.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by plant management.
