Job summary

Publix Super Markets in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Manufacturing Associate responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment across the plant, including smoke trucks, coolers, and docks. The role requires handling caustic chemicals with protective gear, moving heavy racks and pallets, and operating wash and lifting equipment after proper training.

You will support all departments, adhere to safety and quality policies, and perform other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with GMPs.
• Must demonstrate safe working habits.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to push roll equipment that weighs in excess of 650 pounds.
• Must possess general knowledge of machine operation with the ability to recognize problems.
• Must be able to bend/squat down, etc.
• Must be able to learn and perform all positions.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be willing to attend forklift, pallet jack, floor scrubber and high lift training.
• Must have good human relations skills and be a team player.
• Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Must be willing to assist other team members in other areas.
• Must be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period.
• Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
• Must follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work and a commitment to Publix.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizing smoke trucks (racks), large plastic combos, smoke sticks, baskets, garbage cans and other equipment as needed.
• Cleaning and sanitizing of coolers, storage rooms and docks, including floors and drains, and removal of processing waste and trash.
• Use dangerous/caustic chemicals while donning proper protective gear.
• Will push and pull heavy equipment continually during shift and transport racks, tubs, baskets, and combos plant-wide.
• Operate the tree rack wash, hand jacks, electric pallet jacks, fork lifts, high lifts, floor scrubbers and other equipment after training.
• Assisting all departments in all areas of the food plant as needed.
• Adhere to safety and quality policies while on Publix property.
• Other duties assigned.
