Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic I to keep our facility and equipment running at peak efficiency. You will perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical components, and repair production equipment to support food safety and high-quality output.

The role requires basic electrical knowledge, blueprint reading, and a detail-oriented approach. Training and on-site work with a collaborative maintenance team are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; 1–3 years maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing maintenance and basic electrical work.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure food safety; report deviations to supervisor.
• Start, grease, and monitor production machines; perform repairs.
• Repair and maintain plant equipment; use power tools and measuring tools.
• Perform basic electrical tasks: 110V outlets, sensors, switches, etc.
• Assist with after-hours repairs and special projects as needed.
• Follow HACCP principles and guidelines.
