Job summary

Kroger is seeking a maintenance mechanic for our Irving, TX facility to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections and building upkeep. You will lead with SQR principles and uphold our Customer 1st strategy and Kroger Food Safety standards.

Responsibilities include installing and repairing machinery, testing equipment, and supporting predictive maintenance while minimizing downtime in a fast-paced food production environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and ability to install, repair, and test equipment.
• Experience with electrical, welding, utilities, and basic PLCs preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair facility machinery, electrical systems, and pipework.
• Operate lathe, grinder, drill press, and milling machine to repair parts.
• Troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment for max uptime.
• Complete work orders and emergency tasks.
• Keep maintenance area clean and organized.
• Use maintenance systems to track daily, weekly, monthly tasks.
• Operate material handling equipment safely.
• Document work orders and results.
• Support predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
• Support plant initiatives to minimize downtime.
• Work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow GMP and Kroger food safety standards.
• Able to perform essential functions with/without accommodations.
• Able to work around food ingredients/allergens.
