Job summary

Schweid & Sons in College Park, GA seeks hands-on Industrial Engineer / Process Engineer with 2–4 years in food manufacturing to drive process improvement, boost throughput, reduce waste, and ensure food safety, reporting to the Director of Engineering.

You'll partner with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to troubleshoot bottlenecks, implement corrective actions, and lead equipment installations; use data analysis to identify opportunities and apply data-driven solutions; Bachelor's in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical).
• 2–4 years in food manufacturing or CPG industry required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient in Excel, data analysis, and process modeling.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement tools.
• Experience with process mapping, time studies, and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of GMPs and food safety standards (HACCP, SQF, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Review and document current manufacturing processes to identify efficiency gains.
• Develop and update production metrics like throughput and staffing.
• Design and implement process improvements to increase yield and reduce waste.
• Troubleshoot bottlenecks with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance.
• Lead or support new equipment installations from concept to start-up.
• Use data analysis to identify bottlenecks and apply data-driven solutions.
