Job summary

Woodland Gourmet is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic - Electrician in Waukegan, IL. The role blends plant electrician and maintenance mechanic duties to keep food processing lines up and running while meeting SQF/HACCP and OSHA safety standards.

The position requires 3–5 years in food manufacturing maintenance, strong electrical and PLC skills, and flexibility for overtime. A valid Journeyman license or PLC certs are advantageous.

Qualifications

Education: HS diploma or GED; an associate degree is highly preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years in industrial maintenance in food/beverage environments.
Skills: reading schematics, P&IDs, 480V 3-phase power, basic welding and machining.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical components and control panels.
Perform PLC diagnostics and basic programming adjustments.
Maintain gearboxes, conveyors, and high‑speed packaging equipment.
Execute preventive maintenance and log activities in the CMMS.
Ensure GMPs and food safety standards in all maintenance work.
