Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Social Services Assistant to support daily client needs, manage food donations, and coordinate with volunteers across Delta Colorado and Montrose locations.

The role requires a High School diploma, ability to lift 50 pounds, and willingness to work Monday–Thursday in Delta with Friday in Montrose. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits and background checks as part of employment.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food donations and pantry operations.
• Work with volunteers and keep records for community service workers.
• Prepare food boxes and bags for clients.
• Help unload trucks and assist with TEFAP/commodities.
• Record temperatures for freezers/refrigeration.
• Support seasonal food drives and community vouchers.
• Maintain clean and organized storage areas.
