Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Social Services Assistant to support clients and manage food donations in Delta, Colorado. You will work with volunteers, maintain records for community service workers, and cover responsibilities across the Delta site with occasional visits to Montrose.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience assisting with food donations and volunteer coordination preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Keep food pantry and storage organized and clean.
• Prepare food boxes/bags for clients as needed.
• Assist with unloading trucks and stocking the food bank.
• Support the Director with commodities and TEFAP programs.
• Record freezer/refrigeration temperatures and document accordingly.
• Participate in seasonal activities (Thanksgiving/Christmas).
• Assist in food drives and voucher distribution for Army programs.
• Support other duties assigned by supervisors.
