Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator to help ensure high-quality product is packaged correctly. Shift: 6:00am–6:00pm, 12-hour days, on-site at Gaylord facility.

You will load trays, operate the video jet, monitor the shrink-wrap machine, and assist with setup for production runs. You will follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, perform sanitation tasks, and conduct quality checks on tablets and prints.

Qualifications

• Experience at least 1–3 months in packaging or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all tray packers and ensures proper operations (loading trays, maintaining proper glue volume).
• Maintains video jet to ensure cleaning, proper liquid, correct information, and clear print.
• Monitors shrink-wrap machine and adds film as required.
• Fill in for other Packaging machine operator for breaks and vacations.
• Monitor date on master shipper for legibility and corrective actions.
• Set-up of equipment and material for a production run.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, productive work area.
• Adhere to GMPs and food safety standards; report unsafe conditions.
• Perform sanitation procedures per department standards.
• Run, clean, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot fillers.
