Job summary

Horizons HR Services is recruiting a Machine Operator for a leading Pittsburgh food manufacturer on 1st and 3rd shifts. It offers weekly pay, training, and full-time benefits. The role focuses on packaging equipment, uptime, and food safety compliance.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, strong English, basic math, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Prior machine operation or food manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma GED or equivalent experience.
• Good command of English (written and verbal).
• Basic Mathematical aptitude.
• LOTO and machine guarding safety knowledge.
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours a day.
• Saturday work may be required.
• LOTO, PPE, and machine guarding knowledge.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Able to bend, stoop, twist and turn regularly.
• Regular use of ladders and stairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment to maximize uptime with minimal scrap, rejects and rework.
• Adhere to GMPs and food safety standards (BRC).
• Perform spot checks to ensure quality standards.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of the workplace.
• Document materials used on the wrapper and related paperwork.
