Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) seeks a Pack Machine Operator I to supervise the line, perform setup, and ensure adherence to SQF, HACCP, GMPs, and safety policies.

You will conduct pre-operational checks, quality verifications (weight, seal, label), and ensure correct pick, lot numbers, and paperwork. Experience in a food manufacturing environment and Form-Fill-Seal packaging is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent related experience.
• 1-2 years experience running or setting up packaging machines in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience operating Form, Fill, Seal packaging machines (Vertical or Horizontal).
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, ISO, QS guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines and perform pre-operational checks for sanitary conditions.
• Perform weight, seal integrity, label alignment, and print quality checks per SOPs.
• Verify information on proof sheets against labels and artwork; document correct product picked and lot numbers.
• Observe product defects and monitor fill levels.
• Oversee line and staff (packers and dumpers) to meet production needs.
• Assist in cleaning machines and equipment per SQF requirements.
• Report faulty equipment and coordinate maintenance/repairs.
• Ensure safe operation and line safety for associates.
• Follow HACCP, GMPs and company safety policies.
