Job summary

Foster Farms is hiring for a packaging associate on the production floor. The role involves moving and boxing products from conveyors, and requires dexterity to operate foot pedals and pack items into boxes.

Position requires ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 80 pounds, work in cold environments, and pass pre-employment screening. Comprehensive benefits include insurance, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must report regularly and on time to work as well as work all required hours, including overtime and weekends as scheduled.
• Understand and follow established rules and procedures as well as accept constructive feedback.
• Work safely and set an example of good working safe habits.
• Follow established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all Food Safety procedures.
• Walk and stand on concrete floor, grating, or metal stand in a cold environment for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Pick packages from moving conveyor belts at designated line speeds and place neatly and accurately into pre-formed boxes.
• Must have manual dexterity to be able to pack and simultaneously activate foot pedal to release fully packed box.
• Operate gas flush machine as volume dictates.
• Lift, push, and/or pull 60 pounds or more repeatedly.
• Able to stand for long periods of time and work in cold conditions.
• Excellent eye hand/eye coordination.
• Maintain and improve quality and food safety to insure compliance with company quality. Standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
• Remove packages from baskets and place them on infeed belts to pre-price scales.
• Stack empty baskets and dividers; keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Move wheeled racks 7 baskets high weighing between 200 - 400 pounds.
• Lift, push, and/or pull up to 80 pounds repeatedly.
• Work in cold conditions using provided freezer gear.
• Maintain and improve quality and food safety to insure compliance with company quality. Standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision and Lead personnel.
