Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Food Service Manager II at Deerfield Correctional Center. The role oversees the Food Operations team, inmates, and meal service, ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities include budgeting, procurement, inventory, timekeeping, and scheduling to ensure reliable meal services for the inmate population. Strong supervision and food safety experience are required.

Job Duties

Position supervises the activities of Food Service staff and inmates in the preparation and serving of meals to the population ensuring compliance with all policies. Manages operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and security regulations. Responsible for budgeting, procurement, food storage, timekeeping, and schedule management.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of large volume food operations, sanitation, and food safety standards. Working knowledge of the computer and Microsoft Office programs to include Outlook. Skilled in the operation of food service equipment. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and/or inmates in a food service environment.

Additional Considerations

Serv-Safe Certification. Working knowledge of DOC policies and procedures for Food Services. Food Service experience working in a correctional, educational, hospital or similar institutional environment.
