Job summary

Hartford HealthCare at 80 Seymour Street in Hartford, CT seeks a Transporter to move food, supplies and equipment across the hospital campus for catering and patient services. You will assist in serving food and ensure safe handling and sanitation.

Role requires a CT Class 2 License with Passenger endorsement or CT CDL with Passenger endorsement and a clean driving record. Rotating weekends and holidays are required, with participation in department meetings to drive quality improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CT Class 2 License with Passenger endorsement or CT CDL with Passenger endorsement.
• Clean driving record for a 3-year period.

Responsibilities

• Transports food, supplies and equipment via vehicle to other locations within the Hospital for catering functions.
• Assists in serving hot and cold food and handles such food according to procedures to avoid contamination.
• Delivers patient food trucks to specified units.
• Maintains vehicles in clean, sanitary and safe condition; conducts pre/post trip inspections.

Transports hot and cold food, small wares and any supplies in vehicles to offsite locations. Assists in serving food and clean up after meal periods.

Job Responsibilities

• Transports food, supplies and equipment via vehicle to other locations or areas within the Hospital for catering functions.
• Assists in the serving of hot and cold food and handles such food according to strict procedures and departmental codes to avoid contamination.
• Delivers patient food trucks to specified units.
• Maintains vehicles so they remain clean, sanitary and safe. Completes pre and post trip vehicle inspections for assigned shifts. Transports vehicle to and from maintenance when requested by management.
• Reports all accidents and safety concerns to management in a timely manner. Reviews provided vehicle documentation to ensure it is present and valid.
• Attends and participates in department meetings and in-services to promote continuous quality improvement for self and the department.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Licensure: CT Class 2 License with Passenger endorsement or CT Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Class B with Passenger endorsement license required.
• Clean driving record for a 3-year period.
