Job summary

Paycom in West Sacramento, CA is seeking a Microbiologist to perform microbiological analyses of raw materials, packaging, and finished products, and to monitor sanitation effectiveness. This role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Requirements include a BS in Microbiology or Biology and 2–3 years of hands-on microbiology experience in a food or beverage lab, with proficiency in aseptic technique and membrane filtration. Occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Microbiology or Biology required.
• 2–3 years of hands-on microbiology experience in food/beverage or related lab.
• Experience with membrane filtration and culture-based testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological analyses of raw materials, packaging and finished products.
• Conduct monitoring to validate cleaning and sanitation effectiveness.
• Perform plating, incubation, colony counting and QC checks per methods.
• Maintain accurate records and report out-of-spec results to QA management.
• Assist with GMPs, ISO and sanitation audits and training.
• Provide support for internal microbiology qualifications and troubleshooting.
