Pay: $37,696.00 - $60,703.00 / year

  • VACANCY INFORMATION: (Long Prairie, MN)
  • Establishment: M253, Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC.
  • Work Schedule: Rotating relief position with in-plant rotations; species and shift vary.
  • Activity: Slaughter Tasks.
  • Species: Multiple.

Duties
  • Work in slaughter plants examining food animals.
  • Perform duties before and after slaughter to ensure product safety and sanitation.
  • Maintain sanitation procedures.
  • Be part of a team ensuring product quality and compliance with Federal laws.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment medical exam.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Resume documenting 52 weeks of specialized experience required.
  • Compliance with E-VERIFY system for employment eligibility.
  • Possibility of completing a Declaration for Federal Employment (OF-306).
  • Must have direct deposit setup.
Qualifications

The work environment is hazardous. Applicants must:

  • Be physically and medically capable of performing essential functions.
  • Have full range of motion for rapid movements and work above shoulder level.
  • Be able to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders on slippery surfaces.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Have manual dexterity and good vision; color vision required.
  • Assessment on hearing ability on a case-by-case basis.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and experience requirements by the closing date.

For GS-5 level:

One year of specialized experience or a bachelor's degree with relevant coursework.

For GS-7 level:

One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade or equivalent.
