Job summary

GA Foods is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily distribution and logistics for food and supplies in our Pinellas County operation.

You will supervise staff, coordinate route planning, ensure food safety compliance, and maintain inventory accuracy while collaborating with customers and internal teams. This role requires a Florida driver license and DOT readiness with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in food service, logistics, or distribution.
• Strong communication with ability to coach staff and partner with internal teams and customers.
• Problem-solving skills and creative, out-of-the-box thinking for operational challenges.
• Knowledge of fleet operations (DOT standards, driver management, equipment compliance) and kitchen practices.
• ServSafe certification required; HACCP or GMP training preferred.
• Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, GPS routing tools; experience with HRIS/timekeeping systems.
• Valid Florida Class E Driver License with clean record; ability to maintain DOT medical certification.
• Team leadership, organizational, and motivational skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform warehouse/kitchen tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily distribution operations and food preparation processes.
• Supervise, coach, and develop distribution staff; manage scheduling, attendance, performance, and training.
• Partner with HR on recruiting, onboarding, and timecard/HRIS management.
• Manage warehouse and inventory control, with accurate records and timely reporting.
• Support monthly inventory counts and operational reporting.
• Contribute to route planning and optimization for efficiency and coverage.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee safe use of vehicles; ensure DOT compliance and documentation.
• Meet productivity goals, labor standards, and safety requirements.
• Represent the organization at customer meetings and in-service sessions.
• Assist with purchasing, receiving, and quality assurance of orders.
• Support facility, fleet, and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
