Job summary

IKEA Food is hiring a Food & Dishwashing Co-Worker for a part-time role in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. You will help prepare menu items, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining area in line with IKEA Food standards.

Responsibilities include handling cash and transactions, maintaining facilities and FIFO inventory, and upholding food safety and sanitation regulations. Prior high-volume retail or food service experience is preferred; certification may be required within 30

  • Experience in a high-volume customer facing environment preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume retail environment with knowledge of basic merchandising and selling concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept.
  • Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions accurately.
  • Maintain equipment operation and perform preventive and cleaning maintenance.
  • Keep dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays clean and sanitized.
  • Ensure dining and play areas are clean and organized.
  • Oversee merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and sanitation of sampling areas.
  • Ensure accurate price communication across platforms, including digital menus, boards, and shelf tags.
  • Maintain FIFO and inventory with regard to expiration dates.
  • Follow food safety, workplace safety and sanitation regulations; report concerns.
  • Support IKEA culture and embrace diversity of co-workers and customers.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Food Service Team Member ensuring operational excellence of IKEA Food, you will:

  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept. Adhering to food handling, health, and sustainability standards.
  • Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to cash handling policies.
  • Maintain equipment operation through adherence to operating guidelines, troubleshooting breakdowns, and conducting preventive and cleaning maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean supply of dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays that comply with Food Safety Standards.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining and play areas.
  • Manage the Swedish Food Market by overseeing merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and the cleaning and sanitization of sampling equipment and areas.
  • Ensure accurate and timely price communication across all food solutions, including digital platforms, menu boards, and shelf tags.
  • Maintain supply rotation and stocking in all IKEA Food solutions, adhering to First In, First Out (FIFO), expiration dates, and sustainability standards.
  • Implements IKEA Food policies and procedures for goods receiving and monthly inventory.
  • Adhere to safe food handling, workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, promptly reporting concerns to managers.
  • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume customer facing environment preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume retail environment with knowledge of basic merchandising and selling concepts preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification and/or Food Handler Card (as required by local jurisdiction) required within 30 days of employment.

JOB TYPE - Permanent, Part-time, Hourly Associate, 18+
HOURS - From 12 to 19 hours per week (HL1) // Limited Benefits
SHIFTS- Seeking work schedule availability of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday as a minimum requirement. Work schedules are published one month in advance.

The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 17.58 USD to 20.22 USD and will be based on relevant work experience.
