The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is seeking a Driver to deliver food for our community program. The role requires safe driving, loading/unloading, and helping assemble food kits. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm, with duties that support staff and program operations.

Responsibilities include vehicle upkeep, daily checks, maintaining fuel use logs, and promoting safety. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, be at least 25, and ideally hold a CDL with a school

• Clear criminal background check including clean MVR.
• Must be 25 years of age.
• CDL with School Bus endorsement preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years cafeteria experience preferred.
• CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid certifications within 60 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups.

Responsabilidades

• Drive vehicle safely per YMCA policies and state laws.
• Load and unload food for deliveries.
• Assist in assembling food kits when needed.
• Assist unloading vendor deliveries.
• Keep vehicle clean and orderly.
• Record gas level, mileage, and maintenance.
• Perform daily vehicle checks.
• Promote safety at all times.
• Build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and families.
• Assist Food Service Manager with receiving and storing food.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Driver is responsible for the delivery of food in our food program including loading and unloading vehicle.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-1pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Drives vehicle safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws.
• Loads and unloads food for food deliveries
• Assist in assembling food kits for food program when needed.
• Assist in unloading vendor delivery trucks when needed.
• Maintains vehicle in orderly and clean fashion.
• Completes thorough checks before and after every trip, recording all information.
• Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms.
• Cleans vehicle out each day after last use.
• Promotes safety at all times, keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
• Develops friendly and positive relationship among staff, volunteers, parents, and children.
• Communicates regularly with other staff and supervisor.
• Assists the Food Service Manager with receiving and storing food in accordance with Program guidelines.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Position requires a clear criminal background check to include clean MVR(Motor Vehicle report)
• Must be 25 years of age.
• Prefer CDL with School Bus endorsement
• High School Diploma or satisfactory completion of the GED.
• One to three years' previous experience in cafeteria setting preferred.
• Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Employee must be able to lift over 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Twisting, standing, lifting and sitting during long route deliveries is required.
• Physically perform all skills required of a driver.
• Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.
