Position Summary

Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the serving of guests in the venue dining areas and catering functions. The Food and Beverage Supervisor must be personable and able to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. They will assist Food and Beverage Managers with projects including training, inventory, and special events.

The Food and Beverage Supervisor must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled based on business needs.

This role offers a wage of $25.50 to $28.00 per hour and is eligible for tips.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the serving of meals to guests or direct guests to the buffet line.
  2. Supervise the service of beverages, including alcoholic beverages, verifying guest IDs for minimum age requirements.
  3. Assist in recording guest orders and relaying them to the kitchen via POS system.
  4. Observe guests to respond to requests and determine when the meal is complete.
  5. Calculate meal costs, present checks, accept payments, and provide change as necessary.
  6. Ensure tableware and linens are replaced as needed.
  7. Recommend dishes, identify ingredients, or explain menu preparations.
  8. Supervise the setup of banquet functions, including linens, dishware, glassware, and silverware.
  9. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  10. Demonstrate excellent attendance and ensure equipment is operable and clean before events.
  11. Recognize visibly intoxicated guests and take appropriate action to cut off alcohol.
  12. Enforce all company policies and procedures.
  13. Practice effective HR skills, including employee relations, coaching, counseling, and completing HR paperwork.
  14. Assist management with training, inventory, and special events projects.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years' supervisory experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment, or applicable education.
  • Ability to supervise others effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by law.
  • Responsible cash handling skills.
  • Basic math skills related to POS transactions, cash reconciliation, and inventory.
