THE ROLE

The Food and Beverage Supervisor will be responsible for supporting all food and beverage operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all safety and sanitation standards, neatness, and organization of work areas
  • Follow all company drink and food recipes and procedures to provide high quality and consistent service to guests
  • Greet all guests with fast, friendly, personalized service
  • Ensuring that all guests are educated on products and service offerings
  • Answer guest questions regarding food and coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests by being knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the café’s menu and products
  • Accurately process sales orders into the POS system, inform guests of amount owed, and close out receipts in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Assist with station duties and performing other assigned duties/tasks—as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly manage the floor staff while having direct interaction with customers
  • Maintain accurate records during the shift and accurately balance the day at the end of shift
  • Ensure that the correct closing procedures are followed: all areas of the café are to be left clean, tidy and secure, ready for the next day’s service
  • Assist with daily, weekly and monthly inventory—as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent (culinary training); some college preferred
  • At least two years’ experience in the food and beverage industry
  • ServSafe or Food Handler’s certification

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Personable, friendly and welcoming
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English fluently
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to effectively listen and take direction/instruction
    • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and guests
  • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service standards
  • Fluency in multiple languages
  • Knowledge of electronic reservation systems (preferably OpenTable)
  • Ability to work extended hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Willingness and drive to consistently exceed guest expectations
  • Ability to handle challenges, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving as necessary
  • Ability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Excellent attention to detail, and seamless organization with elevated time management skills
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds up and down stairs/ramps
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures
  • Sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks, to include constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
  • Ability to strictly adhere to company uniform standards, including the ability to maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance per appearance policy at all times

COMPENSATION

$25.00/hour and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
